Celebrate Maryland Wine

Did you know that March is Maryland Wine Month?

Celebrate with the Maryland Wineries Association in their “Winemakers Series!” This series has 5 different seminars all over the state of Maryland and costs $45 a person.

The seminars are:


Eastern Shore: Vines & Variety

Crow Vineyard on Sunday, March 5, 2017, 1 pm – 3:30 pm

They’ll explore locally grown and made Vidal Blanc as well as red varietals growing all over the state, from Western MD to the Eastern Shore.


Frederick County: The Craft of Barrel Aging

Linganore Winecellars,  Sunday, March 12, 2017, 1pm – 3:30 pm

13601 Glissans Mill Road, Mt Airy, MD 21771

They’ll explore the scope of Barrel Aging and how wines change over time. You’ll be able to get a sneak peek at what the winemakers are currently fermenting!


Carroll County: Everything Bubbly

Old Westminster Winery, Sunday, March 12, 2017, 5 pm – 7:30 pm

They’ll explore sparkling wines and how they’re made. You’ll be able to sample wines made from  méthode champenoise & pétillant-natural styles.


Montgomery County: The Mystery of the Mix

Rocklands Farm,  Sunday, March 19, 2017, 1 pm – 3:30 pm

They’ll explore how to blend wines like professionals! You’ll learn methods and strategies for both white and red blends as well as how to make port-style wines.


Baltimore County: Anything But Grapes

Millstone Cellars, Sunday, March 26, 2017, 1 pm – 3:30  pm

2029 Monktown Road, Monkton, MD 21111

They’ll explore not just apples for cider and honey for mead, but what other ingredients make wines unique – including chili peppers, spices, berries, and rhubarb.
