The Reef restaurant in Newport, Rhode Island, has taken it up a level by offering igloo dining experiences with creative themes including Winter Wonderland, Rainforest , Botanical Garden, and Citrus Grove! Dining in an igloo has quickly become a popular winter activity, providing guests with a unique opportunity to enjoy fantastic cuisine, drinks, and camaraderie in a whimsical environment.
A Reef igloo isn’t your traditional ho-hum igloo. They are charmingly decorated by Exquisite Events and each one is uniquely styled and kept warm by either a heater or fireplace, creating an unforgettable experience. We love the idea of a tropical indoor oasis while the winter wonderland swirls around outside.
Each igloo can hold up to 8 people, although some will fit 10. Reservations are for 2 hours and 20 minutes. Plenty of time to relax while you’re “surrounded by the sights, sounds and flavors of the sea.”
The Reef is a waterfront restaurant with panoramic ocean-front views and is situated dockside in Newport Harbor. It features international cuisine inspired by sailors’ voyages to ports across the world, as well as an impressive drink menu.
Their versatile harborside setting is ideal for both small celebrations and large festivities, while remaining informal enough for spontaneous get-togethers. They have a Raw Bar, serve lunch, dinner and a weekend brunch, as well as offer their new Small Plates menu. Hello lobster sliders!

To book your winter igloo, reservations are required and cost $100+tax fee ($108), which covers the use of the igloo for the chosen time and date and is paid when the reservation is made. Mondays and Wednesdays January 22 – February 12 the fee is half-off and will be just $50!
